District Advisory Council

The purpose of the DAC is to provide input and recommendations to district staff regarding the planning and implementation of district categorical programs and curriculum. When necessary the DAC will review legal requirements of state and federal programs and help ensure compliance. The DAC is comprised of members of the school site councils, PTA’s, Corte Madera Larkspur Schools Foundation; site certificated and classified staff, as well as district and site administration. We will ensure a variety of diversity and perspectives through outreach and communication with our constituent groups.

DAC Focus Groups

The purpose of the focus groups of the District Advisory Council is to describe and understand the current program according to CDE standards, develop a set of essential questions, study and research other best practices in the focus area and make recommendations to the DAC for continuous improvement.

Focus groups will use consensus strategies to ensure diverse perspectives as they collaborate.

DAC, SSC and Leadership Teams at school sites must approve recommendations or program changes. The Board of Trustees also has final approval of categorical program and general fund expenditures.

Criteria and parameters for recommendations:

            2) Align with strategic priorities of the district –
                        balanced curriculum, student achievement, differentiation
            3) Must adhere to bargaining agreements as appropriate.
